What the FAQ?

Hello, and Welcome!

That is an excellent question! Here’s the honest truth: There are thousands (millions?) of voice over artists out there. The difference? We all bring something vocally unique to the table. If you like my voice, my tone, my rhythms (I assume you’ve checked out my samples on the home page), you won’t find my particular voice coming out of anyone else. My voice, and my production abilities, are my very personal product, and hopefully, it’s a product you will want to buy.

Process

– Send me script

– Tell me what the audio will be used for, on what platform(s). and for how long.

– I will send a quote based on the info you’ve supplied.

– If you accept the quote, we’ll proceed,

– We will discuss the tone and style you are looking for. As well as your desired format.

– After recording, editing, and mastering the audio, I will send it to you.

– You either accept, or request revisions. Please see my policy on revision here.

– I invoice. You pay. Hopefully we work together again.

It really depends on the type of project. Shorter projects (up to 2500) will be delivered within 48 hours. Larger project (audiobooks) or projects with more production needed (additional music/sound effects) will extend the time of the project. I will always give you a delivery date when I present my proposal.

In most cases, high quality .WAV. But I can supply the file(s) in any conventional  format you desire.

Yes, indeed. All demos are recorded in my studio with the same equipment I will use to record your project.

Most any way you would like, except carrier pigeon, because that would require travel to the last century, and time travel is really messes up electronic files.

But truly, email, Dropbox, Google Drive; those work pretty well these days.

Pricing

All prices (except audiobook narration) are based on the industry standard of 1 minute equals 150 words.

So: 1 to 150 words = 1 minute x base rate

151 to 300 words = 2 minutes x base rate, etc.

Yes. If you request this, I will add it into the quote.

That is certainly negotiable. I love multiple projects for the same client! Let’s talk.

Venmo, Paypal, Apple Pay

Policies

Hopefully this will not happen since we will be discussing what you want before I start the recording process.

If I have made a text mistake, it will, of course, be corrected at no cost.

If I have done something in the recording or mastering process that is different from what we agreed upon, I will offer one revision for free.

If I have delivered the product we agreed on, and you “just don’t like it,” there will be no refund or unpaid revision.

Specific to audiobooks: I will present a checkpoint after 15 minutes of recording for your approval. Once that is approved, I will consider it our agreement that the project is moving ahead with that 15 minutes as a baseline for the rest of the book.

Time is valuable, so I hopefully this won’t happen. But sometimes, life interjects itself. If this happens prior to my beginning recording, no harm, minimal foul. If the project is halted once I’ve started recording, I will submit a pro-rated invoice for work done.

Certainly. I would be happy to, if that helps you decide to choose me as the voice of your project.

Retakes (my mistakes) are included at no cost.

Revisions (changes made to the script after recording):

  • Minor Revisions (one or two words): $25
  • Major Revisions (more than two words) $50
  • Re-Reads (equal to, or greater than 40% of the original script: Original Rate

Performance Retakes for undirected sessions:

  • We’re all human. If there was a miscommunication during our initial discussion regarding tone, voice, pace, pronunciation, etc., I will be happy to do one Performance Retake at no cost.
  • Any retakes necessitated by pronunciation issues not specified in writing during the initial discussion phase will be considered revisions and charged as above.
  • To avoid this situation, please be sure to discuss any uncommon words in your text, or words that have multiple pronunciations, i.e., nee-ther vs. neye-ther, the word salve, etc.
  • Please submit any  changes in a clearly defined fashion.
